St Albans School Middle and Senior School Athletics 2011



This is going to be held on Tuesday 1st November, pp 2 Nov.

There will be an early morning tea (9.50am) and events will begin at 10.30. The children will be competing in age groups in the age they were on Oct 1. The children that do exceptionally well will be part of our school team to compete in the North East Zone Championships at Rawhiti Domain on Tuesday Nov.8th. The following are some guidelines so you know what your child/children are eligible:
Those children who are eight years or older on October 1st and in Yr5 are eligible for the zone - sprints, relay and long jump teams.
 Children who are 9 years as on October 1st are eligible for the zone sprint, relay, long jump and high jump teams.
Children who are 10 years and older on October 1st are eligible for zone sprints, relay, high jump, long jump, discus and shot put teams.
Children who are 9, 10, and 11 years old
 as of October 1st are eligible for the 1000 metre and 1200 metre races at the Zone Champs
These trials will be held soon after our school athletics day.
*Canty. Primary School Athletic rules state that any representative may only enter
 the following - 2 sprints (including relay) and 1 field event or
                            1 sprint and 2 field events or
                            3 field events

The school programme of events is as follows. Please remember the times listed are approximate only.

10.30 – 7yrs High Jump, 8yrs Running, 9yrs Discus, 10yrs Long Jump, 11yrs Shot Put
11.05 – 7yrs Running, 8yrs Discus, 9yrs Long Jump, 10yrs Shot Put, 11yrs High Jump
11.40 – 7yrs Discus, 8yrs Long Jump, 9yrs Shot Put, 10yrs High Jump, 11yrs Running
12.15 – 7yrs Long Jump, 8yrs Shot put, 9yrs High Jump, 10yrs Running, 11yrs Discus
Lunch
1.30 – 7yrs Shot put, 8yrs High Jump, 9yrs Running, 10yrs Discus, 11yrs Long Jump
2.05 – Class relays

Children are encouraged to wear their house colours, bring a water bottle, wear a hat, apply sunscreen and have a warm jacket handy just in case.

Please bring a safety pin so your score card can be placed on to your top.

It should be a great day and we would love to see you down here if you can. Make sure you bring your running shoes for the parent relay at the end.
